Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display to bring “surprises”
Well-known leaker Ice Universe recently revealed that Samsung is preparing a surprising new display for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. While specific details remain under wraps, the tipster suggests that display technology will be the defining upgrade of the upcoming flagship. “Some of Samsung’s core display technologies will be used in this product,” they said.
There are already rumors of the Korean firm equipping the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) OLED panel. This technology replaces the traditional polarizer layer with a color filter, while also swapping the standard pixel definition layer (PDL) for a black PDL. These changes allow the panel to transmit more light, resulting in a thinner, brighter display that consumes less power.
Additionally, Samsung may shrink bezels and improve legibility with an upgraded anti-reflective coating. The Galaxy S26 Ultra could also feature the company’s latest Flex Magic Pixel OLED, which could use AI to dynamically adjust pixels, providing privacy-focused viewing angles to shield on-screen content.
It’s unclear if the tipster is collectively referring to these display upgrades or if Samsung has something more in store. The Galaxy S26 Ultra launches early next year alongside the S26 Pro and S26 Edge. All three models will be slimmer than their respective prdecessors (Pro is the new base model). Expect more leaks in the coming weeks.
