The Galaxy Z TriFold is Samsung’s first device of its kind, featuring two inward-folding hinges. It is a major leap in foldable technology, offering a full 10-inch tablet-like experience when unfolded, while still fitting into your pocket when folded. The main highlight of the device is its large and premium display, along with a slim design. Samsung has also given the TriFold a big upgrade in battery capacity and charging speed compared to its earlier foldables.

A major upgrade in battery and charging for Samsung’s most advanced foldable

The Galaxy Z TriFold has a big 10-inch display on the inside, so it needs a large battery to power it. Samsung has equipped the device with a 5,600mAh three-cell battery. On the charging side, the device supports up to 45W fast charging. Samsung claims it can charge up to 50% in around 30 minutes with the 45W charging brick. The TriFold also supports 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare.

For context, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 4,400mAh battery, so the TriFold sees a jump of more than 25%. The Fold 7 and Flip 7 also max out at 25W wired charging, which is lower than the TriFold’s 45W support. Samsung finally appears ready to take the next step in battery and charging tech. Rumors suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will boast a 5,200mAh cell with 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging.

Coming back to the Galaxy Z TriFold, it is one of Samsung’s biggest innovations in foldables. The device brings a premium feel and a unique design, all the while offering top-notch performance with a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor under the hood. It runs Samsung’s latest One UI 8 based on Android 16, and it should also be among the first devices to receive the One UI 8.5 update in the future.

The Galaxy Z TriFold will debut in South Korea on December 12, followed by launches in the UAE, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the USA. Pricing is expected to be on the higher side, around $2500. You can check all the key specifications here.
