One UI 8.5 Leak Confirms Galaxy S26’s Big Wireless Charging Upgrade

Just days after One UI 8.5 leaks hinted at Samsung testing 60W Super Fast Charging 3.0 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the software has dropped another surprise. Fresh code references “Super Fast Wireless Charging,” strongly suggesting that the company is finally ready to break past its long-standing 15W limit. If accurate, this could confirm the rumored 25W wireless charging upgrade coming to the S26 Ultra.

Samsung hasn’t meaningfully improved wireless charging speeds on its flagship phones in almost five years. Well, even wired charging speeds have seen no upgrades for years. It appears the company is gearing up to break shackles with the Galaxy S26 series next year. Rumors already hint at 60W wired and 25W wireless charging on the S26 Ultra, up from 45W and 15W, respectively.
Code strings spotted in leaked internal One UI 8.5 builds support those claims. Of course, we do not have official figures, but Samsung’s fastest wired charging tech is currently labeled Super Fast Charging 2.0. So “3.0” must bring a meaningful upgrade. Likewise, its current “Fast Wireless Charging” tech on the Galaxy S25 series tops out at 15W speeds, so “Super Fast” charging should be faster, potentially going up to 25W.
Based on leaks so far, Samsung may offer 20W wireless charging on the Galaxy S26 and S26+, and 25W on the S26 Ultra. The company may adopt Qi2 with built-in magnets for optimal charging, potentially allowing the S26 Ultra’s rumored 5,200mAh battery to charge from 0–100% in around an hour wirelessly.
Built-in magnets will also add support for Qi2 magnetic accessories such as wallets, stands, grips, power banks, and car mounts.
