One UI 8 Beta 2 for Galaxy S25 to Fix Widget and App Drawer Issues

Samsung is expected to soon release the second One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series. It is already testing a new version with the build number ZYF1 internally (the current public version is ZYER). Ahead of its rollout, a well-known tipster managed to access the new build and shared early insights into the changes users can expect with Beta 2.
Here’s what One UI 8 Beta 2 could bring to the table
The first One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 lineup caused issues with widget resizing, leading to poorly aligned or oddly scaled widgets on the home screen. The issues existed in the previous internal beta build (ZYES) as well — Samsung briefly tested this build since rolling out the first beta. The ZYF1 build now resolves this, allowing widgets to resize correctly and adapt to the grid layout more naturally.
Another noticeable issue in the first beta was unaligned spacing of app icons and the search bar in the vertical app drawer. Samsung has fixed this UI glitch in the latest build, restoring a cleaner and more familiar layout.
Additionally, Samsung is readying a new version of One UI Home, its launcher app — goes from version 17.0.00.113 to 17.0.00.127. It likely brings refinements to the home screen’s appearance and behavior, including smoother animations and layout enhancements. The new version should be available alongside the next One UI 8 beta update.
According to tipster Tarun Vats, the ZYF1 build removes predictive back gesture, which was enabled by default in Beta 1. It should be a temporary removal though, likely part of some ongoing internal tests. Predictive back gesture should return in future updates after some refinement or compatibility testing.

It’s worth noting that Samsung may or may not push the ZYF1 build as the second One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. As said earlier, the company also tested one more build internally but never released it publicly. However, regardless of the build version, expect these changes to be part of Beta 2.
Samsung may soon expand its beta program to more devices and markets
With Beta 2, Samsung may also expand One UI 8 beta testing to more countries. The beta program is currently available in the US, the UK, Germany, and South Korea and is expected to expand to India, Poland, and China. Moreover, Samsung may launch beta programs for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Fold 6 later this month. Stay tuned as more details emerge.
