Now Brief Still Missing on Galaxy S23 After One UI 8 Beta 2

Earlier today, Samsung began rolling out its One UI 8 Beta 2 update for the Galaxy S23 series. The new build patched a bunch of previously known bugs, but it still did not include the much-awaited Now Brief feature. This raises questions about whether the company plans to bring this feature to the 2023 flagship lineup.
Galaxy S23 series gets One UI 8 Beta 2, but Now Brief is still missing
Android 16-based One UI 8 Beta 2 is now available for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra in several regions. The update fixes several issues, including random reboots and a DeX settings bug. While Galaxy S23 users were hoping that Samsung would finally bring the Now Brief feature in the second beta, it still remains absent.
The company also omitted Now Brief when it pushed the first One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 series, but it was added in the second beta. In that case, it’s natural to expect that it might follow a similar approach for the Galaxy S23 lineup. Unfortunately, this did not happen, leaving users waiting for the next potential beta or the final release of the Android 16 software.
For the uninitiated, Samsung introduced Now Brief as part of One UI 7 (Android 15) with the Galaxy S25 series. The feature provides a personalized briefing of selected content throughout the day. You can access it through the home screen widget or the lock screen icon in the Now Bar.
Now Brief uses a personal data engine and requires a powerful chipset to analyze content in real time. The Galaxy S23 lineup uses the 4nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, so it should run the feature smoothly. Some enthusiasts have even managed to run it on their Galaxy S23 phones by sideloading a specific version of Personal Data Intelligence. Hopefully, Samsung will officially enable Now Brief for the older flagship series in One UI 8.
