Samsung has started rolling out the second One UI 8 Beta update for the Galaxy S23 lineup, addressing some of the most pressing issues reported by early testers. The update is currently live in South Korea and India, with more regions expected to follow soon. The new firmware, version ZYI5, is about 500MB in size and also includes the September 2025 security patch. It brings the devices closer to the stable One UI 8 update.

Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra get One UI 8 Beta 2 with bug fixes

According to the official changelog, the latest beta update for the Galaxy S23 trio resolves three important issues. Samsung has patched a stability bug that caused devices to randomly reboot while on calls or using an app. It also addressed the DeX bug that would reset settings after an update. DeX settings will now remain intact after upgrading from older software via OTA, saving users from having to reconfigure them manually.

Finally, a glitch that prevented the paired smartwatch’s weather app from updating in real time has been fixed, ensuring a smooth connected experience for Galaxy S23 users. These fixes hint at a nearing release of the stable One UI 8 update for the 2023 flagships, with the rollout expected to begin in late September or early October. The Galaxy S25 series may get the final One UI 8 version next week.

If you have already enrolled your Galaxy S23 device in the One UI 8 Beta Program, you should see the OTA update notification shortly. You can also check manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. For those who haven’t joined yet, Samsung has reopened beta slots in select regions. You can sign up via the Samsung Members app to start testing Android 16-based One UI 8 ahead of the stable release.
