If leaks are anything to go by, the Galaxy XR headset could soon see full reveal as Samsung is expected to showcase it this month. Reports say that Samsung will showcase the Galaxy XR headset on October 21, and as we inch closer, a report reveals nearly every detail about the upcoming Galaxy XR headset in what could be the biggest leak yet.

The biggest Galaxy XR leak yet shows design and specs!

Folks over at Android Headlines have published what seems to be the Galaxy XR’s official renders, screenshots, and more details. And as you’ll expect, it will rival the Apple Vision Pro, which costs $3,500. Now, let’s see how it will compare to Apple’s, according to the leak. Well, the outlet says that Galaxy XR weighs about 545 grams, lighter than the Vision Pro.

It features a curved front visor, soft-touch interior padding, ventilation slots, and detachable light shields. A rear dial allows users to adjust strap tension, distributing weight away from the nose for longer sessions. Now, take a look at more leaked material:

The headset’s display could feature a market-leading visual fidelity. Each eye will be treated to a 4K micro-OLED panel, delivering 4,032 pixels per inch across 29 million total pixels. If true, that will surpass the Vision Pro’s 23 million pixels. Supported resolutions reach 4.3K at 90 fps per eye, with vivid colors and high contrast. The competition is indeed intensifying.

It will pack Snapdragon XR+ Gen 2, under the hood, and run One UI XR

Under the hood, it will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor. And that is capable of hindsight high-res mixed-reality apps, AI features, and spatial computing with ease. That means you will have multiple ways to interact with the headset, including hand, eye, and voice tracking, facilitated by six front and bottom sensors, a depth sensor at the forehead, four eye-tracking cameras, and omnidirectional microphones.

On the software front, it will run Android XR-based One UI XR operating system. Leaked screenshots show Camera, Gallery, Chrome, Maps, YouTube, Netflix, and the Play Store. More importantly, the icons are rounded and show a mix of Samsung and Google. As previously suggested, it will also bring Gemini smarts to handle settings, search, and notifications.

The headset will come with two 6-DoF controllers featuring analog sticks, triggers, and haptic feedback. Audio is delivered through dual two-way speakers per side, supporting immersive spatial sound. It could have 2 hours battery life for general use and 2.5 hours for video playback, with an external battery connector helping reduce on-head weight.
