Google is taking its on-device creativity tools to the next level. The company has begun rolling out Nano Banana, its powerful AI image editing model, directly into Circle to Search. The integration merges Gemini’s image generation engine with real-time, on-screen search, letting users create, remix, or enhance visuals instantly from anything displayed on their phone. Here’s how.

Nano Banana is Google Gemini’s Flash Image model-based AI editor, known for its ability to perform complex visual tasks using simple prompts. It has already gained popularity for its natural language editing, photorealistic image generation, and powerful remix capabilities.

From minor touch-ups to full creative overhauls, Nano Banana supports both text-based commands and sample-image input, enabling effortless creation of new visuals without needing professional editing software. This integration into Circle to Search makes it more accessible, allowing users to start creating in a jiffy.

When using Cicle to Search (long-press the home button and select an object on the screen), you now get a “Create” option with a “banana” icon.Β Tapping it launches the AI editor, where users can describe edits or enhancements in natural language, upload or reference additional visuals, and generate and refine new images within seconds.

This integration enables creative remixing, allowing users to instantly restyle, recolor, or transform on-screen images for inspiration or design reference. Instead of taking screenshots and switching apps, users can initiate edits directly from what’s on-screen. Designers can also circle UI elements and reimagine them with AI to test fresh ideas.

Nano Banana is showing up within the Circle to Search overlay for users worldwide. If it isn’t available for you yet, update your Google app to the latest version. The system operates via Google’s cloud infrastructure, minimizing strain on the device while ensuring consistent image quality. Generated images are automatically watermarked to indicate AI assistance.
