Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6’s June 2025 Security Update Reaches Canada

Samsung’s June 2025 security update rollout is moving along, now reaching the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in Canada. This comes about a week after the update first hit 2024 foldables in South Korea. With that pace, it’s safe to say the update should arrive in the remaining regions shortly.
June 2024 security update lands on Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in Canada
Samsung is now rolling out the June 2025 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in Canada (h/t: @theonecid). The update comes with build number BYER and weighs in at around 450MB. To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install and check if it’s available for your device.
The June 2024 security update includes over 60 security fixes. In which, mostly are Android OS patches and some Galaxy-specific ones. These updates improve device security and enhance stability for smoother performance. You should ideally keep your device update to ensure it stays protected and runs efficiently.
The firmware rolling out in Canada for the 2024 foldables is basically identical to the version that began rolling out in South Korea last week. So don’t expect any changes this time, unlike the Galaxy S25 and S24, which are getting a bootloader update in June. That also means the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 aren’t quite next in line for the One UI 8 beta just yet.
Speaking of One UI 8, the Android 16-based update will debut soon with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Samsung is likely to announce the new foldables on July 9 in New York. Both will feature design tweaks, but it’s the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that’s shaping up to deliver some major changes to the series.
