With each Galaxy S generation, Samsung is taking the AI experience to the next level — and the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will be no exception. The new lineup will reportedly be able to generate AI images in just one second from user input. This is because of the integration of the high-performance image generation model, EdgeFusion, into the flagships.

Samsung teams up with Nota to power Galaxy S26 AI image generation

According to Sedaily, Samsung has teamed up with Nota, an AI solutions company, to bring EdgeFusion to its Galaxy S26 series. This is part of a recent AI optimization technology supply agreement between the two firms. The AI model will be integrated directly into the company’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip, which could power Galaxy S26 and S26+ in select regions. As such, users will be able generate images in less than a second by entering text prompts.

EdgeFusion is a customized version of Stable Diffusion, the popular open-source image generation model. Stable Diffusion is able to offer high-quality results, but its large size makes it difficult to run quickly on mobile devices. Samsung has reduced the model’s size to achieve a lightweight design while maintaining superior performance.

As a result, EdgeFusion can generate 512 x 512 pixel high-quality images in just one second on-device. It is worth mentioning that Qualcomm previously showed on-device Stable Diffusion running in one second on its 3rd-gen Snapdragon processor. However, EdgeFusion can reportedly beat that performance, giving Exynos an advantage in mobile AI.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Flip 7 was the first device to feature EdgeFusion on the Exynos 2500 chip. Now, the Korean firm plans to bring this model to its Galaxy S26 series, further bolstering Galaxy AI across its premium smartphones. The 2026 flagship lineup could go official at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 25.
