Certification Confirms 60W Charging Upgrade for Galaxy S26 Ultra

It always looked likely, but we now have documented proof that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support 60W wired charging. The device has been certified with a charging profile of 3A/20V, which equals 60W of power. Samsung also recently launched a 60W charger.

Rumors of Samsung upgrading the Galaxy S26 Ultra from 45W to 60W charging have been around since the early days. The company even quietly launched a new 60W charger this week, further fueling the speculations. Now, the device has surfaced on a Chinese certification database, confirming the rumored charging boost.

As expected, the device doesn’t require a specialized 5A cable to charge at full speed. It can draw 60W of power using a standard 3A cable. Samsung’s new 60W charger also supports a power output of 3A/20V, so things line up nicely. The company clearly designed this charger with the Galaxy S26 Ultra in mind, though you won’t get the brick in the box. You must purchase the adapter separately, while Samsung gives you a 3A cable with the phone.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy S26 Ultra was previously certified with 45W charging. The same database listed the other two models with 25W charging. However, now that the Ultra model is confirmed to get faster charging, this raises hopes that the base Galaxy S26 will also make a jump to 45W, at least. We shall find out soon.

Probably not soon enough, though. Rumors suggest Samsung has delayed the Galaxy S26 launch to late February next year. It has reportedly started mass production of the Ultra, but the other two models still need some final tests. Hopefully, the market release won’t be pushed too deep into March.
