Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Gets a Big Battery Boost, Base Model Not So Much

With each passing day, we are learning more about the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup. Samsung is likely to announce the fourth-generation Galaxy Buds alongside the Galaxy S26 series. That means we can expect them at Galaxy Unpacked event in late February. As the launch draws closer, Samsung is not even trying to hide the Galaxy Buds 4 series. It recently appeared in the Tips app.
As it turns out, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro promises biggest battery upgrade yet
But there is something else worth knowing: the battery capacity of the Galaxy Buds 4 series. Android Authority managed to uncover battery details a few weeks ago, but it turns out those figures refer to the rated capacity, not the typical capacity, of the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup.
To avoid confusion, it helps to understand the difference between the two. Typical capacity represents the average amount of power a battery delivers when tested under standard conditions and reflects normal performance across multiple units. Rated capacity, on the other hand, is the minimum power level the manufacturer guarantees the battery will reach.
According to the report, the rated capacity of the Galaxy Buds 4 is 42mAh, while the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro comes in at 57mAh. In terms of typical capacity, that translates to 45mAh for the Galaxy Buds 4 and 61mAh for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. That marks a notable increase over the previous generation and would be the highest battery capacity ever seen in a pair of Galaxy Buds.
The report also notes that the Galaxy Buds 3 are equipped with a 48mAh battery, while the Buds 3 Pro step up to 53mAh. Based on these figures, the standard Galaxy Buds 4 appear to dip slightly below their predecessor in battery size. The Pro model moves in the opposite direction, climbing to 61mAh, which brings it back in line with the capacity used in the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
What do you think about this change? Does it make a difference to you, and would battery capacity be a deciding factor in upgrading to the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup? Let us know.
