Breaking! One UI 8 Watch Beta Released for Galaxy Watch 7, Watch Ultra

As promised, Samsung has officially begun rolling out the One UI 8 Watch beta update today, right on the last day of June. The beta program, first announced a couple of weeks ago, is now live for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra in the US and South Korea. The company plans to expand the beta program to more models in the coming weeks, though it’s unclear if users in other markets will be eligible.

Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch is a major OS upgrade for Samsung’s smartwatches. The new version is expected to debut with the Galaxy Watch 8 series next week. Ahead of that, the company is beta testing the new health features and other enhancements on older models. It also plans to roll out beta updates for the Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch FE. The Galaxy Watch 4 series misses out, and it’s unclear if it will get the stable build.

If you are using a Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch Ultra in the US or South Korea, you can register for the beta program through the Samsung Members app. Once enrolled, you will receive the One UI 8 Watch beta like a regular OTA (over the air) update. You can install it through the Settings app on your watch or via the Watch settings menu on the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone.

The One UI 8 Watch update introduces a refreshed UI experience with new elements like the Now Bar and Now Brief, aimed at improving glanceable information and app navigation. But the real headline is new health and wellness features. Samsung is adding Antioxidant Index to measure oxidative stress in the body, Bedtime Guidance for deeper sleep insights and personalized bedtime recommendations, Running Coach to optimize your running form and performance, and Vascular Load to monitor vascular strain during physical activity.
