Samsung’s Galaxy tri-fold device has remained something of a mystery. We know the company is working on it, but beyond that, details are scarce. There have been past rumors suggesting it might finally be teased or even receive a limited release at an upcoming Unpacked event, but so far, nothing has been confirmed.

Samsung might release tri-fold at the upcoming July Unpacked

A new rumor, however, adds fuel to the fire. According to leaker Setsuna Digital on Weibo, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series in July. At the same event, Samsung is also expected to finally reveal its much-rumored tri-fold device. Previous reports suggested it could launch as the Galaxy G Fold, but that remains unconfirmed.

Samsung tri-fold launch

The leaker also claims that the upcoming devices will arrive in stores in August. If true, this could mean a longer pre-order window, typically around two weeks or fifteen days. As always, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it cannot be completely ruled out.

Interestingly, while Samsung may introduce the tri-fold device in July, it reportedly will not be available before October. If accurate, this suggests that the July Unpacked event will serve more as a launchpad for the tri-fold.

This timeline is similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which had a limited launch in October last year. So far, it remains exclusive to South Korea and China, where it was released under a different name.

Last month, tipster Yogesh Brar also claimed that Samsung’s tri-fold would launch in the third quarter and would only be available in two markets: South Korea and China. Pricing is not expected to be modest either. Early estimates suggest a super-premium price range between $3,000 and $3,500.
