No, Samsung Won’t Debut a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra in July, Says Tipster

Samsung is just weeks away from unveiling the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, along with the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Two credible sources have also confirmed earlier rumors that Samsung will return to New York to host its Unpacked event in July. In the lead-up to the big reveal, Samsung has been teasing what could be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with multiple references to “Ultra.”

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra isn’t coming, but Ultra is coming to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 instead

Reliable source Max Jambor posted on X that there won’t be a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra at the event. Instead, we might see the Z Fold 7 deliver an Ultra-like experience. This makes sense, especially since there have been no concrete references to an actual Ultra model. So far, benchmark listings have pointed to three devices currently in development.

These three include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. The first two are expected to make a big debut next month at the Unpacked event in New York, but the chances of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE appearing are quite slim. That further rules out the possibility of a Z Fold 7 Ultra, even as a long shot.

In a separate article, we explained why Samsung is using “Ultra” language when teasing the Z Fold 7. The company continues to use phrases like “the Ultra experience is ready to unfold,” which likely point to Ultra-level features being integrated into the new book-style foldable.

With that in mind, you can expect a larger display, improved cameras, and other key upgrades. In fact, a recent benchmark offers more reason for Samsung to associate the device with the “Ultra” tag. According to Geekbench, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 scored 2,896 in single-core and 9,226 in multi-core performance. These numbers put it on par with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
