Galaxy Z Fold 7 Benchmark Shows Why Samsung Calls it “Ultra”

Samsung is positioning the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as an Ultra-grade flagship, and its latest teaser makes that intent unmistakable. The company is promising larger displays, upgraded cameras, and next-gen features to deliver a best-in-class foldable experience. A new benchmark leak backs those bold claims with hard numbers.
New benchmark shows Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs Ultra-class performance
In a newly surfaced Geekbench listing, the global version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (model number SM-F966B) posted impressive results. It achieved a single-core score of 2,896 and a multi-core score of 9,226. These numbers are on par with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, confirming that Samsung’s next foldable is ready to compete in the Ultra-tier arena when it comes to raw performance.
While Samsung didn’t officially name the foldable “Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra,” it consistently used the term “Ultra” in its teaser. The company clearly wants users to associate the device with its top-of-the-line Galaxy S Ultra series. Whether it’s a name change or just positioning, Samsung aims to elevate its foldables to flagship-level expectations.
These Geekbench scores are a big leap from the earlier February benchmark of the same model, which scored around 1,900 (single-core) and 5,200 (multi-core). Samsung must have optimized the device in recent months as it prepares for its launch. The benchmark also confirms the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and 12GB of RAM, plus Android 16, which Samsung will dress up as One UI 8.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will be the first Samsung devices to ship with One UI 8 out of the box. If the company launches the Galaxy Z Flip FE “affordable foldable” at the same event, count it on that list too. The big launch event is expected to take place in New York in the first half of July. The Galaxy Watch 8 series should also break cover at the upcoming Unpacked.
