How to Transfer Files between Galaxy Phones and iPhones using Quick Share and AirDrop

Samsung is finally breaking down one of the biggest barriers between Galaxy phones and iPhones. With the Galaxy S26 series, the company has introduced a new way to share files with Apple devices using Quick Share and AirDrop. The feature could soon expand to older models.
Best of all, there’s no complicated setup involved — no extra apps, no workarounds. It’s as straightforward as it gets. Just a few taps to send files across platforms. Here’s a quick look at how the system works.
Quick Share and AirDrop finally start talking with each other
For years, seamless file sharing between Android and iOS has been frustrating at best. Now, Samsung is changing that by bringing AirDrop compatibility directly into its ecosystem, starting with the Galaxy S26 lineup. It added a new option called “Share with Apple devices” in Quick Share Settings. The feature is enabled by default.
With this feature, when sharing files via Quick Share, iPhones now show up on the target device list alongside Android devices, as long as they have AirDrop visibility set to “Everyone for 10 minutes” (there’s no way to permanently set it to Everyone). You simply tap the device’s name and accept the file transfer request on your iPhone to receive the file. That’s it.
The process is as seamless as it is between two Galaxy devices. You can also share files from your Galaxy phone to other AirDrop-compatible Apple devices, like MacBooks and iPads. Of course, it works the other way around too — from iPhones to Galaxy. Just make sure to set visibility to Everyone (as it turns off automatically after 10 minutes).
This feature makes sharing between Android phones and iPhones much easier, especially for friends and families using both. However, there are still some limitations. Large files, like videos, take noticeably longer to transfer compared to Quick Share-to-Quick Share transfers. Hopefully, Samsung and its partners will improve this over time and make the experience faster and smoother. We’ll keep you posted.
