Samsung brings AirDrop and Quick Share interoperability, starting with Galaxy S26

The time has come. Samsung has confirmed an update will initially roll out in Korea and it will come to the US later this week, finally bringing AirDrop support starting with the Galaxy S26 series. You’ll be able to share files back and forth between the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

According to Samsung, the update starts rolling out March 23 in Korea and will reach the US later this week. “AirDrop support will be initially available on the Galaxy S26 series, with plans to expand to additional Galaxy devices at a later date.”

This confirms Samsung will expand AirDrop support to more Galaxy devices. One can expect a gradual rollout, with the Galaxy S25 series likely next. This is a major step after Apple added support for RCS. It closes another gap and makes it easier to share files with iPhone users.

How to AirDrop files from Galaxy to iPhone?

First, open Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share. You’ll see a new option, Share with Apple devices, which you need to turn on. Then make sure the receiving device, whether it’s an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, has AirDrop set to Everyone. Watch the steps in action:
