Quick Share on Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy S26 lineup can now send files to iPhones, something that, until recently, felt almost impossible without clunky workarounds. It’s a meaningful quality-of-life upgrade that tackles one of the biggest everyday frustrations between Android and iOS. More importantly, it doesn’t look like Samsung will take long to bring this feature to more Galaxy phones.

Samsung prepares to bring Quick Share-AirDrop compatibility to more Galaxy devices

A new report by GalaxyClub suggests Samsung will soon bring Quick Share-AirDrop compatibility to additional models. The company recently pushed updates to Quick Share (v13.8.51.58), Quick Share Agent (v3.5.22.24), and Quick Share Connectivity (v1.5.13.15), laying the groundwork for this expansion. The publication confirms support for the following devices.

  • Galaxy S25 series
  • Galaxy S24 series
  • Galaxy S23 series
  • Galaxy S22 series
  • Galaxy Z Fold 7
  • Galaxy A56
  • Galaxy A36
  • Galaxy A55

The report adds that more Galaxy devices could get AirDrop support, especially the Galaxy Z lineup. However, the aforementioned Quick Share updates may not be enough to unlock the feature. Instead, users may have to wait for One UI 8.5, which should reach all eligible devices by mid-2026. The rollout could begin next month, with the Galaxy S25 series leading the line.

Once you have the feature, you’ll find a new option called “Share with Apple devices” in Quick Share settings. The option is enabled by default, and the system works pretty smoothly, just like a Quick Share-to-Quick Share transfer. However, transfer speeds, especially for larger files, are still noticeably slower compared to native Quick Share transfers between Galaxy devices.

Nonetheless, what matters the most is that the barrier is finally coming down. For the first time, Android and iPhone users are getting something that feels close to frictionless sharing, without needing extra apps or awkward workarounds.

It’s been a long time coming.
