This Could be Samsung’s App for Managing its XR and AR Devices

Samsung is preparing to enter the extended reality (XR) and augmented reality (AR) market in a big way. The company’s Project Moohan XR headset is expected to debut before the end of this year, possibly as early as September 29. Alongside this, Samsung is also developing two AR smart glasses, which may debut in 2026. Now, the Korean firm may have started preparations for a companion smartphone app for these products.
Samsung readies a new app to manage XR headsets and AR smart glasses
As with most connected devices, Samsung is expected to release a companion app to manage its upcoming headsets and glasses. A new trademark filing in South Korea may have revealed the app’s name: Glasses Manager. The filing at KIPRIS (via SamMobile) describes the trademark as:
- Headset for virtual reality experience
- Recorded computer software for setting up/controlling/operating smart glasses and augmented reality headsets and virtual reality headsets
- Downloadable computer software for setting up/controlling/operating smart glasses and augmented reality headsets and virtual reality headsets
- Smart glasses
- Augmented Reality Headsets
This suggests that Glasses Manager will function as a central hub for pairing, customizing, and managing Samsung’s next-gen wearable displays across smartphones and PCs. The application is still pending approval, but such filings usually precede product launches. That said, trademark registrations don’t always guarantee final naming. Companies often secure rights to multiple terms in advance, leaving some unused.
Samsung itself has several trademarks that never saw the light of day. We’ll have to wait and see if the company launches an app called Glasses Manager in the coming weeks. The wording is specific and strongly tied to XR and AR devices, fitting for a companion app for these products. The XR headset is rumored to go on sale in Korea in mid-October, so the app must hit stores before that.
