Samsung is preparing to roll out a refreshed version of the Samsung Health app alongside One UI 8.5. While new tools are on the way, some existing ones are set to disappear. Samsung has begun notifying users within the Health app that multiple services under the Fitness Program tab will be discontinued in an upcoming update expected later this December.

Samsung Health to remove several fitness programs later this month

According to the notice, workout programs that were previously available through downloads will no longer be supported. In addition, any fitness programs uploaded before December 31, 2022, will also be removed. If users attempt to access this older content from an outdated version of the app after the update, they may encounter errors or find that the files no longer load at all.

There is one exception, though. Samsung says that content offered through real time streaming will continue to work and remain accessible even after the changes take effect. This means users who rely on live workout sessions should not see any interruption, at least for now.

This change comes at a time when Samsung is also expanding Samsung Health in other ways. One UI 8.5 introduces a redesigned health dashboard with more detailed summaries, better medication tracking. At the same time, Samsung is also working on adding ambient noise tracking to help users monitor potentially harmful sound levels around them. The update is clearly focused on delivering deeper health insights, even as it trims some older features.

What remains unclear is whether the Samsung Health update mentioned in the notice is tied directly to One UI 8.5. Or if it will arrive separately as a general app update. Samsung has not shared a precise timeline beyond confirming that the transition will take place in December.
