If you wear a Galaxy Watch, you probably know it lets you check your sleep score. However, it appears that there has been a change in how the sensors measure the score, possibly due to a software update. Some users are saying that their daily scores have increased recently, even though they haven’t made any changes to their sleep habits.

You may notice your Galaxy Watch sleep score is higher than usual

Quality sleep is one of the most important factors for a healthy life. While we simply say we “slept well” or “didn’t sleep well” last night, we can’t measure sleep accurately without tools. This is why devices like the Galaxy Watch have become popular in recent years. Thanks to the built-in sensors, the smartwatch can track a host of factors during sleep. The Samsung Health app shows how well you slept last night with a score from 1 to 100.

However, several Galaxy Watch users recently took to Reddit (via Android Authority) to discuss an unusual trend. One long-term user wrote that they usually scored in the 80s, sometimes low 90s, and occasionally around 70. They had never reached a score higher than 93 or 94 until last week. However, the user is now getting scores of 99, with only a brief drop to 96 before returning to 99 again.

Well, you might think that the user has suddenly started sleeping much better. However, that’s not the case, as they haven’t made any behavioral changes. In the same thread, other users also reported similar experiences over the past few days.. “I’m seeing the same, too. My previous high was a 91 with an average of 84, then this week it’s just all 99”, one user noted.

While Samsung has yet to comment on this matter, some users believe that the sudden jump in sleep scores is due to the recent software update. If that’s the case, the Korean firm will definitely address it in its future updates. We’ll let you know if the company provides an official explanation. Stay tuned.
