Some Galaxy Users Still Struggling with One UI 7 Battery Drain

Earlier this month, we reported that several Galaxy device users are experiencing a quick battery drain issue after updating to One UI 7. While it’s common to drop battery performance for a few days after a major OS update, it looks like the issue is still affecting many users. There may be some bugs in the stable One UI & build for some devices, though Samsung has yet to confirm anything.
Some Galaxy users are still reporting quick battery drain issues
Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 is a major software update with several new AI features and changes to the user interface. While users expected the update to improve battery efficiency, the battery drain issue is now causing concern for many Galaxy users. It’s really frustrating for users who depend on their devices for daily work.
Several affected users have raised their complaints on social media platforms like Reddit and X. A Galaxy S24+ user wrote on Reddit, “I have the S24+ Snapdragon, and I used to get a full day of use (6-7 hrs SOT) on One UI 6. But now that I’ve updated to One UI 7, my phone barely lasts me half the day before I need to charge it again.” Similarly, a Galaxy S24 Ultra user wrote on X, “Is it only me experiencing battery issues on Samsung S24 Ultra after the One UI 7 update? I’ve tried everything to stop the draining, but nothing seems to work.”
Since Samsung pushed the stable One UI 7 update globally for both 2024’s flagship devices last month, the temporary battery adjustment period should be over by now. But the issue still continues for many users, suggesting an unknown One UI 7 bug could be the culprit. It’s unclear whether the bug is affecting only select Galaxy S24 devices, but owners of other Galaxy models are also reporting similar problems.
As of now, Samsung has not acknowledged the issue publicly, but we can expect the company to bundle the fix in a future software update. Until then, you can try basic troubleshooting steps like a factory reset and adjusting the power-saving settings. Stay tuned, we will keep you posted once new information becomes available.
