Samsung seems to be rethinking its flagship playbook. According to fresh leaks out of Weibo, the tech giant is planning to scrap the “Plus” models from the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy S26 lineups. With mounting evidence and insider chatter backing the claim, this shift appears more likely than ever.

Samsung’s flagship Android tablet lineup shrinks to just two models

Last year, Samsung launched only two flagship Android tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. There was no base Tab S10 or anything else in its place. The company introduced the Tab S10 FE series in the mid-range segment. Leaks suggest it will soon launch a Tab S10 Lite, but it won’t be a true-blue flagship.

With the Galaxy Tab S11 series later this year, Samsung may drop the Plus model. All certification listings and leaks so far have only mentioned the base Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra. The company does plan a Tab S11 Lite, but again, it may not be a direct substitute for the Plus. There’s no mention of the Tab S11 FE series yet, though that doesn’t necessarily mean Samsung has scrapped the mid-range lineup as well.

No Galaxy S26+, as Edge replaces the middle child

Beyond its upcoming tablets, Samsung may be planning a similar shake-up for its 2026 flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S26+ could be dropped entirely, making room for the Galaxy S26 Edge as its replacement. While talk of this shift has been circulating for a while, the latest insider report adds more weight to the possibility.

The Edge should offer the same screen size as the Plus and also keep similar internals. The only notable difference should be its slimmer profile and smaller battery. Maybe one less camera, though Samsung is expected to offer a zoom camera on the Galaxy S26 Edge.

While these changes would mark a major shake-up of Samsung’s flagship lines, they wouldn’t be entirely surprising. Sales data over recent years show that Plus models tend to underperform compared to the base and Ultra variants. By cutting the middle option, Samsung could be streamlining its portfolio — and making space for the sleeker, thinner Edge model, which debuted earlier in 2025.

If the current timeline holds, the Galaxy S26 Edge successor is expected to launch alongside the S26 and S26 Ultra in early 2026. A Galaxy S26 FE should arrive later in the year, possibly in Q4 2026. Of course, nothing is official yet. However, leaks from this source have been reliable in the past, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Samsung confirms these changes in the coming months.
