Galaxy S26 Edge Tipped for Early Launch Alongside Main Flagships

Following the introduction of the Galaxy S25 Edge last month, Samsung is expected to continue the slim flagship line. The company is likely to launch the S26 Edge next year — if the need be, it could discontinue the Galaxy S26+ to make room for the slim model. Now, a new report suggests Samsung could introduce the next Edge early, possibly alongside the rest of the lineup.

Galaxy S26 Edge looks set for an early launch

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 series in January this year. The lineup consisted of the three regular models: base S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Last month, the company added the S25 Edge to the mix, offering it as an alternative for those who want the Ultra’s powerful 200MP camera in a slimmer build.

While the Galaxy S25 Edge compromises on a few things — it has a smaller battery and lacks a zoom camera — it is a solid overall package. You get the same chipset and display, as well as a fairly capable camera system. The battery life isn’t too bad either, within the expected lines for a 3,900mAh unit. Software optimizations and a more efficient processor help the phone get the best out of its relatively smaller battery.

It hasn’t been long since Samsung opened sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. It’s still too early to say whether the device is a hit. However, it looks set to be a permanent fixture in Samsung’s flagship lineup. Rumors suggest the company may remove the Plus model next year, offering the Galaxy S26 Edge alongside the S26 and S26 Ultra.

Even if the Plus exists, Samsung may launch the Edge model as an integral part of its 2026 flagship lineup. “The Samsung Galaxy S26 series, expected to launch after 2026, is likely to consist of either three or four models,” tipster @OreXda said on X. This suggests the Korean firm will debut the Edge on the same day as other models early next year. More details should emerge in the coming months.
