Samsung Rolls Out One UI 8 Updates for LockStar and NotiStar

Samsung has rolled out new updates for LockStar and NotiStar, bringing official support for One UI 8 devices. The former also picks up a fresh new feature — custom fingerprint animations — and a handful of important bug fixes and improvements. These updates should hit One UI 8 users globally in the coming days.
LockStar and NotiStar get One UI 8 support with the latest updates
LockStar is one of the most popular modules in Samsung’s Good Lock customization suite. It lets users customize the layout and elements of their lock screen — from repositioning the clock and notifications to enabling widgets and shortcuts. With this latest update, Samsung is making the module more stable and compatible with its Android 16-based software. Well, LockStar already worked on One UI 8, but it’s finally picking up official support.
But this update isn’t just about enhanced compatibility. Samsung’s official release notes mention a fix for a bug that caused the dynamic clock to stop working properly. The company has also resolved loading errors affecting lock screen widgets, making them more reliable and responsive. Additionally, an issue where icons failed to display correctly while using the Extend Unlock feature has been fixed, improving both appearance and usability.
On top of this, LockStar version 7.0.01.5 brings customizable fingerprint animations. If your device features an under-display fingerprint scanner, you can now customize the animations that appear when unlocking the device. Samsung currently offers five different animations. While they aren’t “amazing,” Galaxy users do get more ways to personalize their phones.
Meanwhile, Samsung has also rolled out One UI 8 support for NotiStar, updating it to version 8.0.17.0. With this update, Game Booster+ remains the only Good Lock module unsupported on One UI 8. A few other modules also have yet to receive their updates, but they are working on the new OS. Expect Samsung to push fresh updates with new features in the coming days.
