Other eligible devices will get the new patch in the coming days.
Galaxy A36 5G gets Samsung’s November 2025 security update
Launched in March 2025, Samsung’s Galaxy A36 5G is eligible for six generations of OS and six years of security updates. This month’s security update comes with firmware version A366NKSS3BYK2. It is currently rolling out in the company’s home country, South Korea, with other regions expected to pick up over the next few weeks.
If you live in South Korea and have a Galaxy A36 5G, you can download it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. After the successful download, you need to restart the device to complete the installation. While the November 2025 security patch does not include new features, it improves system security and stability.
The update addresses 45 vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners. For example, the update fixes an out-of-bounds write issue in the fingerprint trustlet. Likewise, it fixes an insecure USB connection setting that could let an attacker with physical access get to user data.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t yet installed the Android 16-based One UI 8 update, you should do so to enjoy the refreshed software experience. The update offers improved AI features, along with better multitasking performance. It also strengthens device security. For example, Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) introduces a new security architecture to protect next-gen AI experiences.
As of now, Samsung is developing One UI 8.5, with rumors suggesting the beta program could begin by the end of this year. The Galaxy A36 5G might also join the program, though it may not be part of the initial rollout.
