Samsung is gearing up for a major expansion of AI across its devices. The company announced that it will deploy Google’s Gemini AI on 800 million mobile devices in 2026. This is part of the firm’s strategy to integrate AI into its products, from smartphones and tablets to smart TVs and home appliances.

Samsung offers Gemini AI features in its devices to transform smart living

In recent years, Samsung has baked a bunch of AI features into its devices, attracting more consumers worldwide. Last year, the company successfully deployed Gemini-powered AI features across about 400 million mobile devices (including smartphones and tablets). Now, the company plans to double that number to 800 million this year, according to a report from Reuters.

T M Roh, CEO, President, Head of the DX Division, and Head of the MX Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “We will apply AI to all products, all functions, and all services as quickly as possible.” The leader also noted that awareness of the Galaxy AI brand has jumped from 30% to 80% in just one year, suggesting that buyers are becoming more interested in AI features.

Roh believes that within six months to a year, AI technologies will become much more widespread. As of now, search is the most widely used AI feature on phones, though consumers are also using AI tools for image and video editing, translation, and summarization. These features not only help users save time but also make day-to-day tasks easier. In a New Year address, the executive emphasized the importance of integrating AI technology organically into all devices and service ecosystems in the DX sector.

Previously, Samsung announced its aim to bring 1 billion AI-powered devices into homes worldwide within the next 3 years. The company’s AI Home initiative follows the Ambient AI concept, a context-aware technology that understands human needs. Furthermore, thanks to Vision AI Companion, users can interact naturally with their smart TVs.
