Samsung May Bring Pro Camera Accessory Support to Galaxy S26

Samsung appears to be preparing a notable camera upgrade for its next flagship lineup. Alongside new features, the Galaxy S26 series may introduce support for professional camera accessories. The company appears to be developing direct compatibility with camera mounts and lens-control accessories from TILTA, a brand widely used in the professional creator and filmmaking community.
Pro camera accessories may come to Galaxy phones, starting with the S26 series
Tilta is best known for its modular camera rigs, wireless controllers, and precision accessories used with mirrorless and cinema cameras. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series may boast official support for some of these accessories. This is a significant move, as the company has never fully embraced support for professional camera accessories on its phones before.
Of course, Samsung has not officially announced any of this yet. Our friends at Android Authority discovered hidden strings and feature flags inside Camera Assistant, offering a strong hint at Samsung’s mobile photography ambitions. If things materialize, Galaxy S26 users could mount their phones into professional rigs and control focus or lens behavior using dedicated hardware.
This will bring smartphone videography closer to traditional camera workflows. While the Galaxy S26 series may get this support first, Samsung may eventually bring it to more devices with the One UI 8.5 update. The company is currently testing this update, with the stable rollout expected following the S26 launch in late February.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 series is also expected to introduce new camera features. Most notably, Samsung may allow Ultra users to capture 24MP shots by default with the 200MP main camera. Currently, default shots come out at a 12MP resolution, with options to manually capture 50MP and 200MP shots. Leaks also hint at new HDR10+ options, allowing users greater control over HDR processing of photos and videos.
