Samsung’s Knox platform offers a solid security solution for its devices. The platform has now achieved Common Criteria (CC) certification for monitors. This expands its display products beyond smart TVs that follow global security standards.

CC certification confirms the key security features of Samsung Knox

The CC certification evaluates the security of products that control sensitive data. It offers an international framework that combines the rules of different countries and allows for mutual recognition. Samsung maintained the global standard on smart TVs for a decade thanks to its Knox platform. Now the company becomes the first to receive such recognition for both monitors and smart TVs. This shows the trustworthiness of its security solutions.

Samsung Knox protects devices from hacking and other cyber threats. This comes in useful for a bunch of areas such as AI home control, AI voice recognition, and credit card transactions. The CC certification spotlights three key features: System Integrity Monitor (SIM), Web Browser Security (WBS), and Unauthorized Execution Prevention (UEP).

Speaking of SIM, this feature offers real-time monitoring of the kernel. As such, you remain sure that the device has not been compromised. Likewise, WBS blocks phishing sites while users browse the internet. As for UEP, it validates digital signatures to safeguard devices.

Samsung Knox also features a multi-layered security architecture for improved protection. For example, TrustZone offers a hardware-based, independent security layer, while Knox Vault is a separate layer for sensitive data. Meanwhile, Knox Matrix offers a security management layer for connected devices. Note that select Neo QLED 8K TVs and M9/M8 monitors can enjoy Knox Vault. Knox Matrix works on all TVs and monitors from 2024.

“Connected displays have become central to how we work and live, making verified security essential,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung Knox now certified on both smart TVs and monitors, we’re delivering that protection consistently across our products.”
