Samsung Hopes AI Will Run 90% of Its Business Workflows By 2030

A few days ago, Samsung shared its vision of bringing 1 billion AI devices into homes around the world within the next three years. The company has now announced it will use AI in 90% of its operations by 2030. This means the firm not only aims to integrate AI into consumer electronics, but also into business areas to improve work efficiency.

According to a report from BusinessKorea, Samsung is reorganizing business strategies and work methods around AI. The goal is to find new growth engines and survive in the global technology competition. Roh Tae-moon, acting head of Samsung Electronics’ DX Division, in a press conference at IFA 2025, said, “By 2030, we will apply AI to 90% of all operational areas, enabling AI to make judgments and decisions on-site.”

In recent years, the company has put a lot of effort into bringing AI capabilities to a bunch of devices, from smartphones to home appliances. It aims to equip 400 million Galaxy devices with cutting-edge AI features. However, the company now believes that simply integrating AI into products is not enough — it also needs to use AI in work methods. Furthermore, it plans to become an AI-driven company that grows and works with AI.

Roh also said Samsung will adopt a “hybrid AI” strategy for its products, where it advances cloud AI and on-device AI simultaneously. “We will not limit ourselves to using our own AI models but will actively adopt AI technologies from strategic partners,” he noted. As of now, it has deepened the integration of Google’s Gemini into several Galaxy smartphones, but is now discussing with other partners as well.

Speaking of the strong competition from Chinese brands, he said the company is planning to introduce more mid to low-priced products. The Korean giant has already made its affordable products stand out in the global market by offering AI features. It will be interesting to see how Samsung’s AI vision boosts its business in the future.
