The One UI 8.5 stable release timeline remains uncertain for now. Samsung is still actively testing One UI 8.5 beta builds for the Galaxy S25 lineup, which suggests that more beta updates are likely on the way. At the same time, the company’s continues internal testing of One UI 8.5 for remaining Galaxy devices. Very few models are left, and the Galaxy Tab A9+ has now finally joined the list.
One UI 8.5 build for Galaxy Tab A9+ appears on Samsung’s servers
The Galaxy Tab A9 had already surfaced with a One UI 8.5 test build a few weeks earlier. Now, its elder sibling, the Galaxy Tab A9+, follows. The tablet has appeared on Samsung’s test servers in India, Europe, Turkey, Vietnam, and a few other regions. The Indian variant of the Galaxy Tab A9+ Wi-Fi carries the build version X210XXUAFZAB.
Many One UI 8.5-eligible tablets have already been spotted with test builds. Some key models include the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Tab S11 series, Galaxy Tab A9, and Galaxy Tab A11+. The remaining eligible tablets should appear soon. Like other test sightings, this only confirms that Samsung has started internal development. It does not indicate that the update will rollout anytime soon.
The final rollout timeline still depends on how the Galaxy S25 beta program progresses.
The Galaxy Tab A9+ launched back in 2023. One UI 8.5 will most likely be its last major feature update. After that, Samsung should continue with security patches only. Android 17, expected to launch later this year, will most likely not hit the Galaxy Tab A9+.
Samsung is expected to deliver a more meaningful update this time, similar to One UI 7. Unlike One UI 8, which was quite plain, One UI 8.5 brings noticeable visual tweaks, refreshed system apps, a customizable Quick Panel, a better screen recorder, and a redesigned Game Booster. We’ll keep you updated with the latest rollout details.
