Samsung Discusses Its Plan for a Connected Digital Health Ecosystem

Samsung’s 2025 smartwatch innovations mark the next step in its digital health mission. The company recently hosted a discussion titled “The Next Chapter of Health: Scaling Prevention and Connected Care” at the Galaxy Tech Forum in Brooklyn. The panel discussed how technology and the Galaxy ecosystem can bridge the gap between wellness and clinical care.

Samsung’s vision for the future of health

Samsung aims to create a connected digital health ecosystem. In that mission, the company’s wearable devices and Samsung Health platform will help collect and manage users’ health data. It recently acquired Xealth, a healthcare platform with a network of over 500 hospitals and 70 digital health solution providers. This will allow the company to connect wearable data from Samsung Health into clinical workflows.

In the panel, experts looked at how AI, clinical health data, and home monitoring together can improve the modern healthcare experience. The panel highlighted how healthcare is moving from hospital-based care to care at home. Samsung’s wearable devices with BioActive Sensor technology can collect health data and provide users with AI-driven insights. With SmartThings and smart home devices, Samsung can help people monitor their health and get treatment at home.

Mike McSherry, the CEO of Xealth, said that Samsung’s devices could replace many traditional medical tools. Instead of using a separate blood pressure monitor or pulse oximeter, your phone, watch, and ring could do it all. Dr. Rasu Shrestha from Advocate Health said that healthcare has many challenges, and no single entity can fix them alone. With Xealth, Samsung, and other partners working together, he believes it’s possible to create an open and curated ecosystem.
