Samsung Continues One UI 8.5 Beta Testing for Galaxy S25

Earlier this week, Samsung rolled out the fourth One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. With the stable build expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 lineup, many wondered whether Beta 4 would be the final test version. That doesn’t appear to be the case. Samsung is still actively developing and testing new beta builds, suggesting that at least one more release could be on the way.
Galaxy S25 series could get another One UI 8.5 beta update in the coming weeks
After launching the One UI 8.5 beta program in early December, Samsung maintained a predictable cadence, releasing Beta 2 and Beta 3 exactly two weeks apart. However, it delayed Beta 4, which arrived roughly a month after Beta 3. The extended gap fueled speculation that Samsung may be taking additional time to fine-tune the software ahead of the Galaxy S26 launch on February 25, 2026.
The new flagships will run One UI 8.5 out of the box, so Samsung can’t afford to ship them with unfinished software. However, other devices may have to wait longer for the update, as beta testing may continue for a while. According to tipster Tarun Vats, Samsung recently tested a new beta firmware carrying the build version ZZB5 for the Galaxy S25 series, suggesting that the beta program will continue.
As of this writing, we have no confirmation of beta releases for other devices. There is some chatter suggesting limited beta testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24 series, Fold 7, and Flip 7, but no concrete evidence yet. However, if there’s any truth in it, something should pop up in the coming days.
As far as Beta 5 is concerned, we can’t tell when Samsung will roll it out. We also have no information on what the next release will bring to the table. The company may focus on further polishing system stability and refining the user interface. A few features from the Galaxy S26 series could also quietly make their way into the beta. We shall find out soon.
