One UI 8.5 Beta 4 Changelog: Direct Voicemail and More

Over a month after the Beta 3 rollout, Samsung today released the fourth One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series. It’s unclear if there will be more beta releases, but the latest version certainly pushes the platform toward full stability with a bunch of key bug fixes. There’s also an interesting new feature to add to the overall experience. Here’s the full Beta 4 changelog.
What does One UI 8.5 Beta 4 bring to the table?
The official changelog supplied by Samsung mentions five key bug fixes in One UI 8.5 Beta 4. One issue that caused the lock screen clock to shift downward unexpectedly has been resolved, keeping the layout consistent. The update also fixes a bug in the Phone app where tapping search history didn’t always work properly.
Bluetooth users will notice improved reliability as well, as calls will no longer switch from a connected headset back to the phone under certain conditions. In addition, pasting copied phone numbers into the dialer keypad now works as expected after tapping a call link. Finally, AI Select now closes automatically once “Copy” is selected, removing the need for manual dismissal.
While these fixes enhance the system stability, Samsung has quietly added Direct Voicemail to One UI 8.5 with Beta 4. This feature allows your phone to receive a voicemail message if you can’t answer a call. Unfortunately, the long-awaited Bixby update appears to be missing in Beta 4 as well. Samsung is supercharging Bixby with perplexity, but a public rollout hasn’t begun yet.
We will keep looking and let you know if we find more interesting changes in the latest beta release. Samsung may start pushing the stable version to Galaxy S25 users in March, with other devices following shortly after. It’s still unclear whether the company plans to launch One UI 8.5 beta programs for more models, though.
