Samsung Confirms Sound Assistant Bluetooth Bug, Fix on the Way

It looks like some Galaxy users are experiencing a Bluetooth audio switching issue with Sound Assistant. The issue causes phones to jump to the lock screen when switching audio between the car and the smartphone through the custom volume panel. The good news is that Samsung is aware of the bug and says a fix is on the way.
Sound Assistant update causes a Bluetooth switching issue
For the uninitiated, Sound Assistant is a popular Good Lock module that offers a bunch of tools for a better audio experience. These include individual volume controls for each app, a floating equalizer, the ability to adjust the previous/next song using the volume key, and more. In the custom volume panel, the Bluetooth switcher lets you switch audio output between connected devices without leaving the current app. This makes switching audio output quick and convenient.
However, after a recent Sound Assistant update, several users appear to be facing issues with the Bluetooth switcher. An affected user said that when connected to their car’s Bluetooth and tapping the switch on the volume panel (while watching YouTube), the phone jumps to the lock screen. “I use it more than twice a day, but after a recent upgrade, when I switch sounds on my smartphone, it goes to the lock screen and I get confused,” the user said.
Thankfully, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix. In response to the user, the Good Lock support team said the company will fix the issue in the next app update. Meanwhile, some users advised avoiding the January update if they depend on Sound Assistant’s custom volume panel. The feature is not working correctly and has even disappeared for some users.
So keep an eye on the Plugins tab in the Good Lock app for the upcoming Sound Assistant update. We’ll also let you know when Samsung pushes the new version. Stay tuned.
