It looks like Samsung wants to complete its One UI 7 rollout before the One UI 8 beta program kicks off. After pushing the One UI 7 update to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series and Galaxy A55 in South Korea, the company has now started a global rollout. You can expect the update to reach your country for both devices in the coming days.

Samsung started the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 rollout in early April 2025. While the rollout started slowly, it has now picked up pace — several older flagship devices have received the update so far globally. The Korean firm is now expanding the rollout to mid-range smartphones and tablets as well.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE series and A55 grab stable One UI 7 update

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ are getting the One UI 7 update with firmware build version CYE1. It weighs around 3.6GB and packs Samsung’s April 2025 Android security patch. As of this writing, the update is currently available in two global markets: Europe and India.

Speaking of last year’s mid-range device, the Galaxy A55, it has received the One UI 7 update with the firmware build numbers BYDB and BYDC in Europe. The update package is roughly 2.8GB and bundles the latest May 2025 security patch, ensuring improved system security.

With a global release, the wait for the latest One UI 7 update is almost over for owners of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series and Galaxy A55. Keep an eye out for your device to see if the update has arrived. To check for the update, you can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update is showing for your device, follow the instructions to get started. As you have noticed, the OTA package size is quite large, so if possible, you should install the update over a Wi-Fi connection.

Meanwhile, Samsung is rolling out the May 2025 security patch to eligible Galaxy devices. Since the One UI 7 update for the Tab S9 FE series didn’t include the latest security patch, you can expect a separate security update to arrive on your device in the coming weeks.
