One UI 8 Watch Beta Firmware Spotted for Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

Samsung kicked off the One UI 8 Watch beta program late last month, giving Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra users early access to the latest Wear OS 6-based software. While it hasn’t been smooth sailing so far, the company looks to be preparing to expand the beta program to more models. The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic may be next in line.

Samsung prepares One UI 8 Watch beta update for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

According to a reliable X source @Alfaturk16, a new One UI Watch 8 beta firmware with the build number R955NKOU1ZYG1 for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic recently surfaced on Samsung’s servers. This listing strongly suggests that Samsung is preparing a beta update for the device. However, whether it will roll out the beta build publicly or only run internal tests before the stable rollout remains to be seen.

If Samsung has planned beta updates for the Galaxy Watch 6 series, the rollout should begin later this month. It is unlikely to launch beta programs anywhere outside the US and South Korea. However, we dearly hope Samsung relaxes its carrier restrictions for LTE users. For the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra LTE models, the One UI 8 Watch beta is only available on T-Mobile’s network.

Samsung will officially announce this update at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where it will unveil the Galaxy Watch 8 series alongside new foldables. The new watches will run One UI 8 Watch out of the box.
