Last week, Samsung rolled out its first One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series. And as expected, it brought some bugs as well across various parts of the system. Thankfully, the Korean firm will address some of these known issues, along with feature refinements, in the upcoming One UI 8 Beta 2 build.

Here’s what Samsung has addressed with the One UI 8 ZYF1 build

Samsung has been recently testing a new One UI 8 build, ZYF1, internally (the current public beta version is ZYER). This build will likely arrive as One UI 8 Beta 2 and could be pushed to eligible users as early as next week. Thanks to developers and enthusiasts who got their hands on the unreleased beta build ahead of the official rollout. We now know what Samsung has in store for the next update.

As spotted by Tarun Vats, one of the notable improvements in One UI 8 Beta 2 is in the lock screen widgets. In the first beta, Samsung made the lock screen widgets too big, which many users didn’t like. Thankfully, Samsung has listened to users’ feedback and will bring back smaller widgets, making the lock screen look cleaner.

Additionally, Samsung addressed a major animation bug that caused the screen to become unresponsive. In the current beta, users could not perform any operations on the screen while animations were running during app opening. Users had to wait for the animation to complete before interacting with the screen. This frustrating animation issue has been fixed with Beta 2.

Another important fix is in the Now Brief, which was showing the incorrect time of day. The Beta 2 build has fixed the bug and now correctly shows ‘evening’ in the evening and ‘night’ at night. Other bug fixes include widget resizing issues on the home screen, as well as unaligned app icons and the search bar in the vertical app drawer.

While we expect the internal build ZYF1 as the Beta 2 update, there is a possibility that Samsung may surprise us by rolling out a different build. Whatever happens, we hope Samsung will fix these known bugs and bring improvements across the system UI.
