Galaxy S26 tipped to get long-awaited 45W charging upgrade

The information comes from seasoned leaker Ahmed Qwaider, a source who doesn’t post frequently but has built a reputation for accuracy. Notably, most of his leaks tend to appear closer to launch windows, suggesting they are often confirmations from the supply chain rather than early-stage speculation. That context gives this update more weight than the average rumor.

According to the tipster, both the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will support 45W wired charging. He also reiterates that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is on track to jump to 60W charging, a claim that has surfaced multiple times in recent leaks.

While 45W isn’t a revolutionary leap over 25W in day-to-day use, the Galaxy S26 deserves this upgrade. Samsung’s base flagships have lagged behind competitors for years, so this change is still significant. More so because 45W is now the norm in the premium mid-range segment as well.

The source doesn’t specify the battery capacity, but rumors point to a 4,300mAh unit on the Galaxy S26, up from a 4,000mAh battery on its predecessor. Meanwhile, the leak confirms Samsung’s dual-chip strategy, shipping the Ultra with the Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 and the other two with the Exynos 2600. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ may also get the Snapdragon chip in the US and select other markets.
