Here’s How Much You’ll Pay to Replace the Galaxy Z TriFold Display

Samsung has already announced that it will bring the Galaxy Z TriFold to the US in a few months. If anything, it certainly won’t be affordable and could cost a bit north of $2,800. So naturally, you’ll want to take good care of it, and you may also have to pay a hefty amount if you end up breaking the Galaxy Z TriFold’s display.
Galaxy Z TriFold display repair charges cost a fortune, and understandably so
According to tipster yeux1122, it costs 1.657 million or 1.834 million won (~$1,123 or ~$1,243) to repair the Galaxy Z TriFold’s display in South Korea. As for the cover display, be prepared to pay 137,000 or 226,000 won (~$93 or ~$153). In the US, the repair costs could be slightly higher.

I think this is quite a lot, and many users might not want to pay the full amount. In that case, getting Samsung Care+ could be a smart choice. But is the price justified? We can compare it with the cost of repairing the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s display. Samsung sells the Galaxy Z Fold 7 for $1,999 in the US (without considering discounts), and replacing the main inner screen costs $589, which is roughly 30% of the product’s total value.
Samsung officially sells the Galaxy Z TriFold for 3.59 million won, so you would end up paying about 45% of the product’s value if you replaced the main screen. That is still a lot. However, considering that this is a completely new and even more complex form factor, the pricing is somewhat understandable. In any case, with devices this complex, you may want to either wait for the form factor to mature over a few generations or get Samsung Care+ from day one. Personally, I recommend the latter. What do you think?
