Hands-On: Samsung Browser’s Upcoming Multiple Window Feature

One UI 8.5 may not have rolled out beyond the Galaxy S26 series yet, but One UI 9 is already leaking into the wild despite Samsung’s best efforts to prevent it. As usual, One UI 9 will come with its own suite of system apps, and the folks at Samsung seem to be baking Samsung Browser quite well. Here’s my hands-on with it.

Here’s another cool feature coming to Samsung Browser with One UI 9

For the uninitiated, Samsung has dropped Internet, so it’s now simply Samsung Browser, starting with the Galaxy S26 series running the stable One UI 8.5 build. With the One UI 9’s Samsung Browser comes a new feature that productivity nerds will love: multiple windows.

That’s right, you can now have multiple instances of Samsung Browser running at the same time. You’re no longer stuck viewing one page at a time. Now you can have your cake and eat it too. Here’s the new feature in action on the large display of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (review).

It’s not just foldables that get to join the fun. This feature also works surprisingly well on regular slab phones. Here it is on a Galaxy S21 FE.

That’s not the only new feature this version of Samsung Browser brings to the table. The Ask AI feature, which we first showed off, now has a beta tag attached. Digging into the debug settings also reveals a mysterious “Enable Cross Device Resume” toggle. It doesn’t seem to do anything yet, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

This version likely won’t roll out before either the One UI 9 beta program or the stable One UI 9 release. Both are still months away, and this likely isn’t the final version either. Samsung tends to add and remove plenty of things during the development phase, so nothing is set in stone yet.
