A major One UI 9 leak has been spreading across the enthusiast community, and with many exciting new features hidden away. We dug into the firmware, and managed to enable an exciting AI feature within Samsung Internet

Ask AI in Samsung Internet

The folks over at Android Authority found code snippets hinting towards a new Ask AI feature within Samsung Internet, where you can “Ask AI about webpages and other topics while you browse” taking context from the page you’re currently on. They also shared a couple graphics that appear in the feature’s settings page. We managed to get this feature fully functional on our end, so we can show you exactly how it works.

This lets you ask questions about the content on the page or elsewhere and read everything in one place. Notably, this puts Samsung Internet in the same conversation as AI-focused browsers like BCNY’s Dia and Perplexity’s Comet. They all use LLMs to analyze the current page and answer questions in a concise, bite-sized manner.

You can view and manage previous AI conversations, either deleting them or jumping back in. You can set Ask AI to delete activity after six months or at the end of a chat session. There is also a toggle that allows Samsung to analyze responses, which is disabled by default. Samsung also uses your browsing history and page content to personalize results. It stores past questions and answers as well. These privacy options make Samsung Internet more versatile for managing your data.

This feature is powered by Perplexity, expanding its feature set within One UI. Perplexity also powers the upcoming Bixby upgrade and includes Now Bar integration. Even so, these enhancements benefit users of the Samsung Internet app in everyday browsing.

One UI 9 is still a long way off, but this particular feature within Samsung Internet could debut sooner. More work still needs to be done, so be sure to stay tuned for future developments. As a result, Samsung Internet users have plenty to look forward to.

Huge thanks to @wr3ckl3ss1 for sharing the pre-release APK!
