Galaxy Watch 8 Classic key specs and features

Last year, Samsung skipped its usual classic variant in the smartwatch lineup. Instead, it introduced a more premium Galaxy Watch Ultra model alongside the regular Galaxy Watch 7. This year, the Korean firm reintroduced the classic model, which comes alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra (2025). If you are a fan of the rotating bezel mechanism on a smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is the one to look out for.

In terms of design, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic comes with a squircle-shaped frame and a circular display. If this sounds familiar, that’s because the Korean firm adopted a similar design with its Ultra watch last year. The new classic watch is available in a single 46mm size and weighs 63.5g.

If you are concerned about build quality, you will be happy to know that Samsung has not cut any corners. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic features a stainless steel frame and sapphire crystal glass on the front. On top of that, it offers water and dust resistance with IP68 and 5ATM ratings. It’s MIL-STD-810H compliant as well, meaning your watch can handle extreme environmental conditions.

Speaking of the display, you get a large 1.34-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 438 x 438 pixels. The screen supports a brightness of 3000 nits for easy visibility.

The new classic watch features a powerful processor

Under the hood, like the rest of the models in the lineup, Samsung has integrated its in-house 3nm Exynos W1000 chip. As for memory configuration, it offers the same as the new Ultra model: 2GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.

Coming to the battery, Samsung offers a 445mAh unit with support for 10W wireless charging, which is quite impressive. On the software side, the Korean firm has pre-installed Wear OS 6 based on One UI 8 Watch on the device. You can experience the new wearable software straight out of the box, which brings lots of powerful new health features, such as Bedtime Guidance and Running Coach.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic comes in both Bluetooth and LTE variants. The former costs $499, while the latter is priced at $549. As of now, Samsung is running a pre-order program for the device, which lets you score some exclusive perks.
