Alongside the Galaxy Tab S11 series, Samsung is gearing up to launch a Lite model in the Tab S10 series. Dubbed the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, the device has already cleared multiple regulatory certifications, including the FCC in the US and BIS in India. It recently obtained China’s 3C certification as well, hinting at an imminent global launch.

Galaxy Tab S10 Lite certification leads to confusion about its charging speed

The upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 Lite will carry the model number SM-X400 for the Wi-Fi-only version and SM-X406 for the cellular version. It will arrive as an affordable Android tablet designed for budget-conscious consumers. Ahead of its launch, the Wi-Fi-only variant has received the green signal from China’s 3C certification authority. This suggests that the Tab S10 Lite will debut in China as well, although it remains unclear whether the cellular version will also launch there.

The listing reveals that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite (Wi-Fi) will support 25W (9V/2.77A) charging. On top of that, the company won’t include a power adapter in the retail package, which is not surprising. It is worth noting that a recent FCC certification suggests support for 45W charging, raising some confusion. Things will only become clear once Samsung officially launches the device, which is likely just a few months away.

The entire existing lineup in the Tab S10 series — including the Galaxy Tab S10+, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10 FE, and Tab S10 FE+ — supports 45W charging. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Samsung ships the Lite model with slower charging to increase the appeal of the pricier models. After all, the Korean firm will position the device as a more budget-friendly option.

Regarding its specifications, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite will use the company’s in-house Exynos 1380 processor. A previous Geekbench listing showed it with 6GB of RAM and Android 15. However, now that One UI 8 is official, we expect the tablet to ship with the new, Android 16-based software. The tablet may be fueled by an 8,000mAh battery. We expect to learn more details in the coming weeks.
