Galaxy S26 Weight and Thickness Leak Reveals Slimmer Design

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, and a new leak from tipster Ice Universe reveals the alleged final weight and thickness of all three models. The numbers highlight how Samsung’s design has evolved over the Galaxy S24 and S25 generations. We can also see how the upcoming lineup stacks up against Apple’s newly released iPhone 17 series.

Galaxy S26 lineup’s weight and thickness revealed

For months, Ice Universe has insisted that the Galaxy S26 base model will measure just 6.9 mm in thickness. While some leakers claimed Samsung had shifted to a thicker 7.2 mm design, the tipster maintains that those figures came from prototypes used during testing. According to them, the final retail model remains 6.9 mm.

The table below includes the reported weight and thickness of all three Galaxy S26 models, compared against the Galaxy S25, S24, and iPhone 17 lineups.

Samsung is clearly trying to make phones slimmer and lighter, while Apple is moving toward thicker hardware to accommodate new camera systems and a shift from titanium to an aluminum unibody. That said, the Galaxy S26 series is still expected to offer several key hardware upgrades. Most notably, the base model gets a 300 mAh battery boost in a slimmer profile.

The Galaxy S26 series also sees minor redesigns and the return of a camera bump. Perhaps the bump allowed Samsung to slim down the phones without major internal compromises. With the official launch expected in January or February 2026, more details about the S26 trio should hit the rumor mill soon.
