Does the Galaxy S26 Series Come With an SD Card Slot?

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 series. So while most of the big specs and new features are getting all the attention, one question still comes up every year: Does the Galaxy S26 series come with an SD card slot? Here’s your answer.

Do any of the Galaxy S26 models have an SD card slot?

The short answer is no, there’s still no SD card slot on the Galaxy S26 series. That means expandable storage hasn’t made a comeback with this generation, even though many people were hoping it would. Some rumors surfaced late last year that smartphone makers were considering bringing the feature back due to a sudden spike in memory chip prices, but it didn’t materialize.

In past years, Samsung used to include SD card support in many of its flagship Galaxy phones. That allowed you to add more storage on the cheap if you took tons of photos, videos, or downloaded a large offline library of files. It was a big selling point for power users and travel folks with large libraries.

However, Samsung removed the SD card slot starting with the Galaxy S21 series, and it’s been gone ever since, including on the S22, S23, S24, S25, and now the S26 series. Samsung also removed the SD card slot from the Galaxy A56 and A36 last year.

So, what are your options?

With no SD card slot, you’ll have to choose your storage tier when you buy the phone. The good thing is that the entire Galaxy S26 lineup now starts with 256GB of storage capacity. There’s no 128GB version.

For the Galaxy S26 and S26+, you can pick between 256GB and 512GB of storage, and both options come with 12GB of RAM. The Galaxy S26 Ultra adds a third option: 1TB of storage paired with 16GB of RAM, which is also the most expensive variant. Once you make your choice, you’re stuck with it.
