Galaxy S26 Pro Camera Leak Could Let You Down, But It May Not Be Final

It’s been a wild day for those eagerly awaiting the Galaxy S26 series. Earlier today, a report claimed that Samsung is discontinuing the S26 Edge, marking the end of the Edge lineup. Now, a tipster has dug into the One UI 8.5 firmware to reveal the potential camera specs for the Galaxy S26 Pro.
One UI 8.5 firmware spills Galaxy S26 Pro secrets
Erencan Yılmaz claims that the Galaxy S26 Pro will feature the same camera specifications as its predecessors. According to him, the device will come with a Samsung ISOCELL GN3 (S5KGN3) main sensor, Samsung’s S5K3K1 telephoto sensor, and a Sony IMX564 ultrawide sensor on the rear.
That’s the technical stuff. In simpler terms, Samsung isn’t upgrading the cameras on the Galaxy S26 Pro, according to Yılmaz. As for the front camera, the device could again use the S5K3LU sensor. Yeah, the same one Samsung has been using since 2023.
It may not be the final picture
Is this the full picture for the Galaxy S26 Pro? Not quite. Firmware leaks often paint an accurate picture, but given Samsung’s recent shake-ups, such as the reported cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Edge despite earlier leaks, there is still a chance these may not be the final camera specs.
In addition, we’re told that the final decision is still pending and may take at least two more weeks to be finalized. By then, we’ll know whether Samsung plans to add Prowess to the Galaxy S26 Pro or if it is just for the name.
Credit where it is due, the firmware leak does make one thing clear: the Galaxy S26 Pro will get a 4,300mAh battery. For one thing, it is about time we saw an upgrade. For another, several reports have already hinted at this. The leak also points to the Exynos 2600 chipset inside the Galaxy S26 Pro, which is something that supply chain sources also back.
