Galaxy S26 Pro Battery Makes a Surprise Entry on India’s BIS

Samsung is planning a major lineup shake-up with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. And while there’s still some time before all the phones make their grand debut at the event, a few hints are already leaking out. One of them is the Galaxy S26 Edge appearing on Geekbench, boasting impressive scores. Next, we’ve spotted the Galaxy S26 Pro’s battery (specifically, the internal battery component) on India’s BIS certification.
Galaxy S26 Pro battery pops up on India’s BIS, but don’t be too excited!
On the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the battery for the Galaxy S26 Pro has just appeared (thanks for the tip, @KeepUPwithOneUI!). What this shows is that work on the internals has already begun and Samsung is definitely moving full speed ahead with the next flagship series.

Sadly, they don’t reveal the battery capacity (mAh) details, which means there’s nothing official yet. A previous leak has suggested that the Galaxy S26 Pro will have a 4,300mAh battery, which is 300mAh more than its predecessor.
The BIS listing reveals the battery’s model code as EB-BS942ABE and EB-BS942ABY. Which tells us about Samsung’s internal naming system. Here, “EB” denotes Samsung’s battery category, “S” indicates the Galaxy S flagship line, “942” matches the Galaxy S26 Pro’s internal model number (SM-S942), and the final letters identify the version and regional variant.
The Galaxy S26 is still quite far from launch, which is why we do not have all the information yet. But as we get closer, more leaks are expected, some accurate and some not. What we do know for now is that the Galaxy S26 series will launch with three models. That includes the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung is indeed dropping the Plus variant in favor of the Edge, which will reduce the total number of SKUs. What this also suggests is that the Galaxy S25 series may remain the only flagship line for a while, with five models in total, including the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE.
