Galaxy S26 Edge Gets a Bigger Battery, Certification Shows

Samsung is making some changes to the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. This means there will be three models at launch: the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is highly likely that the Galaxy S26+ will not see the light of day. Even though the Galaxy S26 series launch is still a few months away, certifications have already started to appear.
3C Certification brings good news about Galaxy S26 Edge battery
One such certification reveals the Galaxy S26 Edge’s battery capacity, and you might have mixed feelings about it. First, it confirms previous reports suggesting we won’t see silicon-carbon battery tech. On the bright side, we are indeed looking at a battery boost for the Galaxy S26 Edge, if China’s 3C certification is any indication. And it is.

Spotted by the folks at SamLover, the Galaxy S26 Edge’s rated battery capacity is listed as 4,078mAh. This roughly translates to a marketed capacity of 4,200mAh. This aligns with earlier leaks and discussions, so it’s nice to see that a battery upgrade is finally on the way.
Sign-ups for the Galaxy S26 series Mystery Box are now open! You’ll get full more details soon, but count on more guaranteed items and bigger random prizes than ever. At minimum, your box includes a free case, screen protector, cleaning kit, and phone stand.
One of the biggest pain points of the Galaxy S25 Edge was battery life. In our review, we noted that “if there’s one area where the Galaxy S25 Edge falls flat, it’s battery life.” While a 300mAh increase may not make a night-and-day difference, it should still improve overall battery performance, which can be further enhanced with better software optimization.
Additionally, we’ve exclusively published the thickness of all the upcoming Galaxy S26 models. The Galaxy S26 Edge will measure just 5.5mm thick, making it 0.3mm slimmer than the already sleek Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung is also trimming down the thickness of the Galaxy S26 Ultra and S26 Pro, which will measure 7.8mm and 6.7mm, respectively.
